A COVID-19 Statistics Update this week from PNG’s National COVID-19 Control Centre shows total confirmed case numbers have soared past the 24,000 mark, with just under 20,000 recovered cases and the Death toll almost reaching 300.
This clearly shows the COVID-19 situation in the country is intensifying during the third wave of the Pandemic, since the first case was recorded in the country on March 20 last year.
Whilst the Government and relevant authorities are now taking an aggressive approach in strongly encouraging people to be vaccinated, in which vaccination numbers are slowly climbing, others are either still undecided about the vaccine or prefer alternative approaches other than vaccines.
